We are seeking a highly analytical candidate with strong PowerPoint and writing skills to join the firm’s Pursuits and Proposals team in providing business development support drafting and coordinating pitch materials, RFP responses, and presentations. Responsibilities also include maintaining content in the firm’s experience management and proposal generation platforms. Candidate must also possess strong Excel, research, communication, and interpersonal skills to partner with attorneys and professionals across departments on marketing initiatives and special projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, produce, catalog, and track pitch materials, including PowerPoint pitch decks/slides and written responses to RFPs.
- Create and audit pitch and RFP content in proposal generation platform.
- Create and maintain matter information in experience management platform.
- Collect and analyze data to evaluate existing and potential new business and cross-marketing opportunities.
- Assist with gathering and analyzing competitive intelligence to support industry analysis, trends reporting, and competitive analysis.
- Assist with marketing and business development initiatives related to specific practice areas, client initiatives, and the firm at large.
- Assist with developing and maintaining electronic marketing materials and business development focused materials on wsgr.com.
- Work on special projects as needed.
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
- Preferably two years of business development, marketing, or related experience in the professional services field, technology industry, or related services industries. Prior business development experience at a law firm is a definite plus.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Strong PowerPoint pitch and marketing presentation skills.
- Strong oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, research, and Excel skills. Experience with PitchBook, Capital IQ, and other research platforms is a plus. Experience with Salesforce or other contact management databases is also a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, highly demanding environment.
- Strong work ethic and team-player attitude.
- Positive client service attitude with an attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and effectively with attorneys and staff at all levels to implement marketing and business development objectives.
- High degree of discretion and independent judgment.
The primary location for this job posting is in Palo Alto, but other locations may be listed. The actual base pay offered will depend upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to the selected candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, level of education, professional certifications and licenses, and work location. The anticipated pay range for this position is as follows:
San Francisco and Silicon Valley: $81,600 – $110,400 per year
Austin, Boston, Boulder, District of Columbia, Los Angeles, New York, San Diego, Seattle, and Wilmington: $73,100 – $98,900 per year
The compensation for this position may include a discretionary year-end merit bonus based on performance. We offer a highly competitive salary and benefits package.
