Every major transaction today runs through a data question. When an AI company raises its next round, when a cloud provider is acquired, when a fintech goes public, the deal terms increasingly turn on how data moves, who controls it, and what happens if something goes wrong. Our Data, Privacy, and Cybersecurity group advises on those questions, working alongside corporate and transactional teams rather than inside them.
You’ll advise on privacy, data processing, and cybersecurity issues that arise in mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, and other commercial and strategic transactions, for companies building in artificial intelligence and machine learning, cloud computing, software, and fintech. You’ll shape data provisions, flag risks that didn’t exist five years ago, and translate fast-moving regulatory issues into clear guidance for deal teams and clients alike.
We’re looking for an associate with 1 to 3 years of experience and real transactional exposure, whether that’s M&A, capital markets, or technology transactions. If you also bring regulatory policy or enforcement experience, or a CIPP certification, even better. What matters most is judgment: the ability to see how a privacy issue plays out inside a live deal.
A J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, strong academic credentials, and sharp verbal and written communication round out what we need.
