The firm is currently looking for an experienced Senior General Accountant to join the accounting team in Palo Alto, California.
This position is available as a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities will include the following:
- Perform general accounting functions including preparation of journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliations.
- Prepare assigned monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Complete assigned duties related to month-end and year-end closing.
- Prepare and review assigned account reconciliations.
- Maintain supporting schedules and documentation to ensure compliance with audit and regulatory standards.
- Analyze financial results to identify discrepancies, trends, and variances.
- Collaborate with other Finance team members to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Handle various types of internal and external reporting.
- Handle various US and international tax filings.
- Support external audits and tax preparation processes, including providing requested schedules, documentation, and analysis.
- Assist Chief Accounting Officer with treasury management related tasks.
- Special projects and other general accounting functions as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with firm policies and internal controls.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience preferably law firm accounting role.
- Excellent technical skills.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Results orientated with an ability to collaborate with different individuals across the organization.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience with Aderant, or similar law firm financial system is highly desirable.
The primary location for this job posting is in Palo Alto, but other locations may be listed. The actual base pay offered will depend upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to the selected candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, level of education, professional certifications and licenses, and work location. The anticipated pay range for this position is as follows:
San Francisco and Silicon Valley: $102,000 – $138,000 per year
Seattle: $91,800 – $124,200 per year
The compensation for this position may include a discretionary year-end merit bonus based on performance. We offer a highly competitive salary and benefits package.
