One of our newest offices, Century City sits at the intersection of technology and entertainment. It is the Southern California base for our internet strategy practice and is a hot spot for many of the firm’s entertainment and intellectual property matters.
Wilson Sonsini’s substantial Los Angeles practice has led the firm to establish two office locations within ten miles of each other: Los Angeles–Downtown and Los Angeles–Century City. Wilson Sonsini lawyers in Los Angeles share one culture across two locations. While everyone is formally assigned to one office, many of our Los Angeles lawyers spend time in both locations—some occasionally and others more regularly.
Wilson Sonsini opened our Century City office to serve our tech and entertainment clients. The Century City area is home to more than 500 tech and entertainment companies, including many of our clients such as Google, YouTube, Hulu, and Disney. Our internet strategy and entertainment law practices are based in our Century City office and are among the most dynamic, fastest-growing areas of our firm.
Joining the Los Angeles offices in litigation means joining an exciting and growing team that is committed to bringing high-stakes and high-profile disputes to trial. You’ll have the opportunity to work with premier litigators who commit to small teams and close mentoring, and to work directly with clients and have early responsibility. Our Los Angeles team also features attorneys who represent both public and private companies in a variety of corporate and securities transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, equity and debt financings, and joint ventures.
We ask our summer associates to spend time in both offices so that they can connect with all of our attorneys and other professionals in both neighborhoods. Between our downtown and Century City Los Angeles offices, the firm usually brings in two to five summer associates each year, focusing on our internet strategy, complex litigation, and corporate practices.

The life science business advisory practice at Wilson Sonsini was formed in 2019 to provide emerging growth and more established life science companies with critical business advice and transactional support. This non-legal practice focuses on life science companies that need support raising capital, developing and evolving their business strategies, and developing and executing on partnership, licensing and M&A transactions. We are seeking to hire a Director, Life Science Business Advisory Practice, to grow the burgeoning practice. The Director will source clients and execute projects and transactions for clients to support on their business needs. The successful candidate will also support the strategic build out of the practice.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Business Partner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting a wide range of human resources functions, including employee relations, compensation planning, performance management, coaching and employee development. The Patents and Innovations Group at Wilson Sonsini has an opening for an IP specialist or patent agent with backgrounds in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, bioinformatics, artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML), or related disciplines. Previous law firm or industry experience is a plus. Responsibilities include working with the firm’s clients in all aspects of patent prosecution, including in evaluating invention disclosures, preparing and prosecuting patent applications, conducting landscape studies including analyzing third party patents.
