Wilson Sonsini is seeking an experienced revenue manager to join our growing client accounting team. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a firm that focuses on skill development and departmental collaboration. This position will be responsible for managing the Litigation Department portfolio and will interface extensively with our clients, our partnership and firm senior management. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead the litigation revenue team to meet and exceed monthly billing target at the firm, department and individual staff level, and to support firm efforts to improve deal realization.
  • Lead billing process automation initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the billing function, especially through adoption of paperless. prebilling, and driving the billing process as a service for Members.
  • Manage development of the Litigation Department revenue team, including:
    • Concierge service to Member relationships with client contacts.
    • Collections punch list and targets.
    • Tracking of milestones and phases in significant litigation, including management of litigation budgets.
    • Oversight of ebilling and other client requirements and guidelines.
    • Oversight and compliance with matter engagement terms
    • Compliance with firm financial policies.
  • Ensure compliance with financial controls and accounting procedures.
  • Ensure that employees are properly trained in our processes and utilization of technology.
  • Manage staff and provide annual performance appraisals and performance counseling as needed.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements that will enhance the overall performance of the team.

Education, Skills and Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4+ years of management experience in law firm finance role, including billing or collections.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to accurately review contracts, summarize key factors and identify problematic accounts with limited supervision.
  • Seasoned professional with prior collection management experience in high volume/dollar, automated, professional services firm.
  • Skilled manager of people and processes to achieve maximum results.
  • Strong leadership, analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer service focused.

The primary location for this job posting is in Palo Alto, but other locations are also listed. The actual base pay offered will depend upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to the selected candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, level of education, professional certifications and licenses, and work location. The anticipated pay range for this position is as follows:

San Francisco and Silicon Valley: $131,750 – $178,250 per year

The compensation for this position may include a discretionary year-end merit bonus based on performance. We offer a highly competitive salary and benefits package.
