Preliminary Round: National Moot Court Competition
The National Moot Court Competition is run by the New York City Bar and the American College of Trial Lawyers. The Preliminary Round will take place on Saturday, November 22 at BU Law, located at 765 Commonwealth Avenue in Boston, Massachusetts. Rounds will take place at 9:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m and in each round, the advocates argue for one hour, followed by scoring and feedback. Teams of students from twelve law schools throughout the New England region will be competing, and the top two teams from the region will move on to the National Competition in New York. This year’s problem involves three questions concerning the scope of the Fourth Amendment’s protections and the application of qualified immunity in the context of prolonged government retention of property.
