About the European Privacy and Cybersecurity Team

The European privacy and cybersecurity team advises clients of all sizes across a wide range of sectors, including AI, finance, technology, life sciences, the Internet of things, social networks, connected mobility, and biotechnologies.

The interns work in a highly motivating and challenging environment on exciting, cutting-edge development and expansion projects involving (i) all aspects of EU privacy and data protection law, including: GDPR compliance, international data transfers strategy, data breaches and cybersecurity incidents, corporate transactional privacy, contract negotiation, regulatory investigations, and litigation before national courts, national Data Protection Authorities and the European Court of Justice, (ii) other data regulatory legislations, including the EU Digital Markets Act (DMA),  the EU Digital Services Act (DSA), the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Act and other legislative initiatives in the EU. 

Legal interns have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of the data regulatory practice, as well as to take on significant responsibility and work directly with senior attorneys, including former French and U.S. regulators. 

The European privacy and cybersecurity team values excellence and collegiality, and works closely with the firm’s global privacy and cybersecurity practice. The team is international, and its attorneys are trained and qualified in various jurisdictions, including France, Belgium, Austria, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Spain, Poland, and the United Kingdom. 

Apprenticeship Requirements for admission to local bar

Legal interns may be able to satisfy part of their home jurisdiction’s apprenticeship requirements for admission to practice law, including the “projet pédagogique individuel” (“PPI”) for admission to the bar in France. 

Qualifications

  • Strong interest and professional experience in EU privacy and data protection law.
  • French Master’s degree in law (or equivalent) with excellent academic results.
  • Fluency in French (native-speaker level) is required.
  • Proficiency in English is required. Proficiency in other European languages is a plus.
  • The ideal candidate has some law firm experience.
